If you're looking for shuffleboard in Ubud, there aren't many places where you'll find a full-size table waiting for you.

At The Melting Pot Saloon, you can play on a full-size shuffleboard table right here in Ubud, Bali. Whether you've played shuffleboard for years or have never picked up a puck before, it's one of those games that's easy to understand, competitive from the first round, and surprisingly difficult to master.

The Melting Pot is the only venue in Bali to offer a full-size shuffleboard table and one of the very few places in Indonesia where you can play the game at full size.

Our shuffleboard table is available for Rp120,000 per hour, and beginners are always welcome.

What Is Shuffleboard?

Table shuffleboard is a classic game in which players slide weighted pucks down a long, smooth wooden table, trying to land them as close to the opposite end as possible without sending them over the edge. It sounds simple. Then somebody knocks your best puck off the table.

Shuffleboard combines accuracy, strategy and just enough competition to make it a great game between friends. You don't need any previous experience, special equipment or athletic ability to start playing.

That's part of what makes it such a good social game. Within a few minutes, almost anyone can understand what they're trying to do.

How to Play Shuffleboard

Shuffleboard pucks positioned near the scoring area of the table

In the common Knock Off version of table shuffleboard, each player or team has four pucks. Take turns sliding them toward the opposite end, aiming to finish farther down the table than your opponent without falling off.

You can knock opposing pucks off the table or position your own to make the next shot more difficult.

Once all eight pucks have been played, only one player or team scores: the side with the puck farthest down the table. Only their pucks beyond the opponent’s farthest puck count toward that round’s score.

Use the table’s scoring markings to calculate the points. Agree on your winning score before starting, then continue from the opposite end.

Different versions have different rules. If you’re new, ask our staff to explain the scoring and help you get started.

Shuffleboard Is Easy to Learn - Hard to Master

One of the best things about shuffleboard is that beginners can compete almost immediately.

You don't need to learn a complicated set of rules before you start. After a few practice shots, you'll understand how much force you need and how the pucks react as they travel along the table.

Then the strategy starts.

Do you try to place a puck safely in scoring position? Do you knock your opponent's puck off? Do you take a risk and aim for the end of the table?

A game that initially looks simple can become surprisingly tactical once both players get the hang of it.

That's why shuffleboard works particularly well for couples, friends and groups looking for something competitive to do together in Ubud.
